Halloween is right around the corner! Many parents and children are flocking to costume stores to pick out the perfect costume to wear. Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, with Downtown Holland and the City of Holland designating specific trick or treat times throughout the day for you and your family to take advantage of. Downtown Zeeland has trick or treat times on Friday, October 30th.

Year after year, MAX helps transport families to various Halloween festivities around the area…and we plan to continue that this year! MAX Transit will be in full operation on Halloween. We want you and your family to be safe if you’re planning to use any MAX Transit bus for transportation on Halloween. As you plan your trips for Halloween with MAX Transit, please remember these three Halloween passenger safety tips while riding on the bus:

  1. Be cautious of any straps, keychains, or drawstrings that might be hanging from you or your children’s costume. These could get caught on bus handrails or doors as you enter and exit the bus.
  2. Please refrain from spooking other passengers, especially passengers who might ride accompanied with a service animal. Yelling and/or screaming is strictly prohibited while riding MAX Transit buses.
  3. As tempting as it may be to eat all of that Halloween candy, please remember that no food or drinks are allowed to be consumed on the bus.

Remembering these three safety tips while choosing to ride MAX Transit on Halloween will help ensure a safe and calm ride for everyone aboard the bus. We encourage anyone in the Holland/Zeeland area to ride a MAX bus to your Halloween festivities! We have over 400 fixed route stops that can get you to numerous places around the Holland and Zeeland Michigan area.
