Welcome to the Macatawa Area Express

Macatawa Area Express (MAX) is the public transit system for the greater Holland/Zeeland area. Our mission is to create a sustainable transportation system to be used by all residents of the Macatawa Area with linkages to other transit systems.

Thank you to all who donated to the 2011 Stuff the Bus food drive!

Stuff the Bus, MAX's annual food drive, brought in 3,200 lbs. of food/personal items for Holland's Community Action House.

Approximately 1,950 lbs. of the donations came from the three Stuff the Bus Saturdays, in which a MAX bus was "stuffed" by customers of area Spartan Stores. MAX's Fare Trade week, held Nov. 14-19, brought in about 1,050 lbs of donations -- during this week, fixed route passengers could get a "free" bus ride if they donated an item worth at least $1.

As in past years, the decorated MAX trolley , with its volunteers pushing lit shopping carts, gathered up donations at the Holland Parade of Lights. Approximately 200 lbs. of donations were given by parade-goers.
