Macatawa Area Express (MAX) is the public transit system for the greater Holland/Zeeland area. Our mission is to create a sustainable transportation system to be used by all residents of the Macatawa Area with linkages to other transit systems.
MAX Authority Notice of Public Hearing
A public hearing is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2011, at the regular board meeting of the MAX Transportation Authority. The meeting location is the 2nd Floor Training Rm, Holland City Hall, 270 S. River Ave., Holland.
The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comment on the proposed budget for fiscal year 2012, Oct. 1, 2011 through Sept. 30, 2012, which includes a fare increase. The Board will consider a one way fare increase for Reserve-A-MAX services from $1 to $2 for seniors and customers who are eligible under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and from $3 to $5 for adults.
The proposed budget is available for inspection at the Padnos Transportation Center, MAX Administrative Offices, 171 Lincoln Ave., Holland, from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Public comments, oral or written, will be accepted at the Public Hearing. After the hearing, the Authority will take action on the proposed budget and fare increase.
The MAX Authority will provide necessary accommodation and/or auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for hearing impaired persons and audio tapes of printed materials being considered to persons with disabilities attending the hearing with five (5) days prior notice.
